There's a narrative within audiophilia that proper equipment has a singular utility: reproduction. In a sense, it's objective and rational, but it removes all the romance and magic from listening. Tube amps give a sense of intimacy and breath whilst the proper phono stage and DAC are an electrical truth serum to some of the most rigid songs. All in all, coloration isn't something that should be frowned upon and dismissed. If a pair of speakers or even a cable can extract a secondary meaning and increase the positive presentation to a track, then isn't that a successful manipulation? In an attempt to welcome audible deviations, I made these two tracks as a homage to Vandersteen 3 speakers and how they add a positive dimension to everything they touch. Big ol' loud speakers that present themselves in an inviting fashion should only be celebrated, revered and never hidden like that of a Camo Limo.
